Sorry should have clarified, the NES had better tech because of the cartridges expanding the NES’s native capabilities (MMC chips) alloweing better graphics and more complex games. The sound was better on the NES as well, hands down.

The 7800 would have been a great console…had the video game crash not happened and it was released on time. The reason it faded away was because it was competing against the NES at a similar price point and the NES had more powerful tech which resulted in better looking and more complex games. Even the backwards compatibility didn’t save the 7800…it’s a shame that the system didn’t get it’s chance to really shine. It probably would have been a classic had it gotten its chance.
