Growing up, my family had a lot of financial problems…but one of the best gifts I got every 2 years was a 2 year subscription to Nintendo Power for my birthday. I guess my dad realized it was a good deal since I would get so many hours of enjoyment from reading, re reading, and re re reading those magazines over and over and over. I’d get the chance to be exposed, even if only through text and pictures, to so many games that I would otherwise have no hope of ever seeing, unless we were able to have a game rental one weekend, and nobody likes rolling the dice, potentially getting a really shitty game… Which is why Nintendo Power was so fucking awesome since it helped me (for the most part) steer clear of pieces of shit and point me towards the good stuff.

It was a small magazine and wasn’t quite as useful, but it was free. Then they gave those of us who were subscribers to that the first issue of Nintendo Power free. I had a subscription for a year of Nintendo Power.

My dad actually has some old issues in a box with some other game magazines, still read em for the old comics and codes.

It is so sad. I was worried when NP was purchased by Future US… but never did I see this coming… although I should have. I’m 25 and when I would ask anyone my age if they read the new NP.. they would laugh and say something like “wow, thats still around?” RIP NP

RIP, NP. You will be missed.

You can see the “M” coming out of his hat.

There’s the twin picture of Luigi right here :

I saw it in theaters as a kid and had it on VHS as well.. i even got it on DVD a few years ago and it’s just as good as when i saw it in elementary school. Maybe it’s cause i didn’t know too much about Mario besides the cartoons back then, but i say long live the Super Mario Bros. movie. it was good, and know others who thought the same. Oh and R.I.P Mr Dennis Hopper, A.K.A. King Koopa
