I thought it looked “okay” when I saw it in theaters. Then we queue to Raph trying to be live action movie Raph, which annoyed me. Generally, when there’s a brand new turtles franchise, Raph is typically different in some way. But it’s like they tried to copy him from the live action movies.

I was a hardcore fan as a kid and any deviation from that old animated series got under my skin but this movie pulled it off. I honestly cant believe they didnt have a TMNT 2. I know Michael Bay is working on a new movie and its about the turtles being aliens..and it sounds awful. Just make a new TMNT in CGI it was awesome, it made alot of money and people loved it. Why bring the series back and then leave it hanging again?

I’m european, live in Norway and I knowstuff about the Turtles which, appearantly, you do not.. here it goes.. What we call Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles is ofcourse stil called Ninja in america, but by calling the cartoons Hero and the live action movies and stories Ninja it is made clear that there is a difference between them. In the cartoons (hero) the footclan are robots. It is for a young audience, no one get’s killed and we have Bebop and Rocksteady as moron henchmen and then you have the technodrome and Krang just to make kids go wow. Right? Now, the more mature version of the Turtles, the Ninja Turtles, doesn’t feature Krang. That would just be silly. 🙂

I read all the Turtle comics that was published here in Norway, still have them and read them from time to time. Some readers did ask why Krand wasn’t in the movies and if he’d ever turn up and based upon the “visions” (there has got to be another word..) from Eastman and Laird. . .Get it. . . ? I strongly agree that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III was and is utter crap and I did get somewhat reminded of it when I saw the scepter in the 2007 movie, but didn’t you notice the refference to Shredder not beeing dead? 🙂

I grew up watching the Live action movies and I watched Reruns of the original show back in the 90s. I also had a couple of toys and TMNT coloring books, so you could say I kinda grew up with the classic series, but it wasn’t until I was in my teens that the newer TMNT series aired and I really got hooked. I just thought it was awesome to finally see a Turtle show that wasn’t random reruns I happen to catch on TV. I stopped watching it after it entered a small hiatus in between one of the seasons and a couple of years later I saw the trailer for this. I thought it was going to be complete shit so I passed on it. Bad mistake, I decided to rent it when it was released on DVD and ended up loving the damn thing for the exact reasons that James mentioned in his review. I felt like I was watching part of the old show/movies I saw in the 90s while at the same time It was a continuation of the new show that I loved watching in my Teens… I really need to get a copy of flick

I think I honestly prefer animation sometimes because with animation, you can do things that just can’t be done live action. However, when you DO have a live action film, I prefer practical effects over CG ones most of the time because for the actors its REALLY fucking hard to act scared/awed/whatever when there isn’t anything actually in front of you.

I’m getting way off topic here… this movie was a lot of fun, I enjoyed it,
