Okay, Shaq Fu was not a terrible game. The controls are different from the standard “quarter circle forward” type of thing. It takes practice. Also, the Genesis version features more characters but the graphics are less detailed and the title screen music is awful. The whole idea behind this was to make a video game featuring Shaq, but not yet another basketball video game. It’s no masterpiece, but there are worse fighting games (like Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi, for example).

destroying every shaq cartridge could likely make it ‘rare’, up it’s value… e.g. Zelda CDi games. Perhaps they should be kept, as a warning.
although imo don’t think the game is as bad as everyone thinks. Better on Genesis.

In the news, Shaq himself hinted at the possibility of a Shaq-Fu 2. In the words of Darth Vader: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It's spoken of at timestamp 1:40 and I hope someone can put that rumor to rest saying it's NOT true.

I remembered thinking this game was ok as a kid. I played it again recently to see what the huge deal was.
IMO it’s not even close to as terrible as it’s hype. I think it’s just been built up.
The controls are standard. Maybe a little slow/clunky, but it’s just a more deliberate style of fighting controls as opposed to a more jabby/button mashing style. Essentially that means there is recoil, and you need to time your moves. However you can turn the speed up and reduce that a bit.

The animation is great and uses a lot of frames. The game starts with a sample from Wu Tang (Old movie & WuTangClan uses it on 36Chambers). Shaq does a funny dance when he wins.

I just played and the arabian guy had the greatest pre-fight quip:
“My swords will make you think twice about that comment.”
lol.
I welcome any counterpoints.

Although the web site is portended by Freedom of Seatch I will not stop anyone who whats to play it form doing so. I for one don’t care of the game is good, bad, kick ass, or shit load of funk if it’s NES, SNES, or Genesis and I don’t have it I get it.
