By perfect continuation, James means it flows from the last film perfectly…it perfectly continues.
The quality of the film is a different matter.

The trails really it Rocky in this film and we grow more attached to him as we root for him in life and his battle with Apollo. One of my favorite scenes is Adrian telling Rocky to win, the bell chimes, Mickey roars into action and Rocky is in the end triumphant!
