Rocky IV made great comparson between american egotism as you say and soviet power, which is pretty much what it is. Soviets were extremely investing their money in technology to become the superior and great country they can become. One professor actually studied there and told they work so hard on to get this, but is not as evil as it looks, they supported you 100%, but still, It’s great how they put Apollo as a simple spectacle that most things are shown in America nowadays and doesn’t take seriously the sport or job they do, in comparison of the used Ivan Drago that fights for himslef, but still has to struggle due to scientists and politicians who only see them as a tool. Great great movie for being the fourth one. Also as you James says, it has his own charm. Saludos desde Costa Rica

The montage as u said, It fits the theme and plot of the movie so well, you dont neeed no bullshit dialogue to understand what is rocky passing through. And i’m glad he got back his personality . Not that sutpid gimmick from civilized rocky from rocky III. I mean you can have wealth and be rich but never change like that movie. So yeah, IV is one of my favorites, and the II is my least favourite. Plus, I actually thought rocky was going to loose 🙁 you kknow, Ivan drago reseembles fear in everybody!

You see, it’s all about propaganda. Trying to force people to think “hey, those fcking Russians should stop what they ‘re doing… whatever it is I don’t care … they ‘re baaaaad……” . Other than that this movie is all about the perfect montage scenes that James mentioned and the fighting scene. You can say it’s no boxing when you watch Rocky fighting but in the other hand it’s funny.

Disgusting propaganda, nice montage.
