not really, we do see king kong swimming torwards home or somewhere
but from the first movie, we know that godzilla doesn’t swim, he walks underneath the sea
so we can’t know if he lost, kong most likely needs air, so he swims, but godzilla just sinked at the bottom and started walking towards someplace

The reason why the name “Frankenstein” has been put into the titles of german releases of those monster movies was just that the grampa-publishers actually thought that the stuff would sell better when it had a name of a monster in it that (they thought) was known to the german audience.
The crazy climax of that madness was when they titled the 1975 movie “Terror of Mechagodzilla” into “Die Brut des Teufels, Konga, Godzilla, King Kong” which translates as “The spawn of the devil, Konga, Godzilla, King Kong”. There is no devil in that movie, as is no King Kong, and what’s a “Konga”??? Funnily enough, in the movie itself, there was a Godzilla, a Titanosaurus and a Mechagodzilla. No King Kong, no Konga. Man, those publishers were on dangerous drugs, while drumming on a conga.
