As others have posted, this game is basically Dungeons and Dragons “Lite” although at the time I first played this game as a kid I had no idea it would serve to send me down the page of RPG geekdom 😀 Unlike HeroQuest, which I played even earlier (and is essentially DragonStrike “Lite”), this game goes beyond just rolling dice to kill creatures…there is a pretty decent emphasis on role-playing and dialogue as well. It’s pretty much D&D with easier rules and the ability via figures and the boards to have some visuals along with the storytelling. It definitely was one of the more complex games I played growing up, but it was so much fun to play…I’ll have to dig this one up the next time I visit the parents. Highly recommend!
