I’ve never met another fan of cat tit bingo? Are you going to the championships?

I, too, find SOtN to be over rated. It’s a great game, but certainly not the best. Its just like the final fantasy games. People always say FF7 is the best, and that’s probably the most over rated game of all time.

They are still the best. Fresher and expressive. Gives you a good punch of nostalgia right in the sack, and makes us, as AVGN fans, wish for more. Thanks cinemassacre team. And go fuck yourselves.

You guys have created a series of the most well-written and meaningful reviews of the Castlevania series on the Internet. Congrats! So much so that it has become somewhat of a Halloween tradition for me. Every year I watch these reviews (as well as some select videos of Monster Madness). I may be a fanboy, but I know talent when I see it, and I really think these reviews are very respectful of the series and tastefully capture the magic that made these games so great and fun to grow up with.

Thanks for reigniting our memories for these precious titles!

Actually, there was one. It’s called Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth, and it’s essentially a reimagining of Christopher Belmont’s adventure from the GameBoy game Castlevania: The Adventure, in the same sense that Super Castlevania was a remake of Castlevania 1. ReBirth doesn’t have eight-direction whipping unfortunately, but it’s a solid classic-style Castlevania game.

Give it a try if you haven’t already. It’s a WiiWare game, so you need either a Wii or Wii U to get it–it’s 10 bucks’ worth of Wii Points in the Wii Shop Channel (you need to go through the Wii Menu to access it from a Wii U).

I grew up with the classics starting with Simon’s Quest. SOTN I find very boring and drawn out and a very easy game. All I do is just hang around the clock tower killing axe knights and within about an Hour I’m so strong the rest of the game is a cake walk. There are many strategies and ways to level up ridiculously quickly but even if you don’t the game still isn’t that hard and is a real chore once you make it to the second castle and really drags. The plot elements don’t offset it’s flaws for me and the ending could have been a lot better. With so many others out there these days it still blows my mind that so many people put it at number 1. It’s a good game but the best? Far from it. The classics or some of the newer games that perfected it’s formula like Aria of Sorrow for example are much better.

I really played those games a lot.So many secrets and unlocks and secret areas and the bosses were awesome…good games.

Symphony of the Night is the best of the older Castlevania games.
