LaserDisc wasn’t really between VHS and DVD, it coexisted with VHS from 1978-2000.

The DVD and Blu-ray versions do sometimes lose things wean the movie jumps form company to company. By Blu-ray of ET does have the Harrison Ford thing as ester egg.

I own an DVD and Blu-ray version of ET that has the Harrison Ford thing as an ester egg. You can on an 15 to 30 second skip on DVDs and Blu-rays if look in the players mantel since It’s not the same on all systems. Lastly I only ever saw the thing were you could never bypass that shit before the movie on the DVDs and Blu-Rays marked with thing’s Blockbuster Rental Only version. In case you didn’t know such disks are also uselessly movie only disks.

We had the Star Trek movies, Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition, Jurassic Park and The Lost World, Pulp Fiction, Mortal Kombat, etc. It was a lot of fun at the time

It’s not edited into the film, but it’s on the extras.
