The menus are cool, always being different, I know you have less time, but I remember the older DVD when I pressed play all, you would say “now you’re hard core!” that was funny, so maybe something like that for Vol.5.
So miss the animated menus.

Just as the other comments say,
Commentary, making of DVD, YKWBS & Board James.

maybe a Avgn Intro Montage of all the random clips you used? because the intros are not on the disc, which is good for playing all the videos. But the montages can be put together as a music video?

The DVDs are great! keep the good videos! love the extras!

Wondering about subtitles… O_o imagine the subtitles saying “Sounds of shit spitting… ” Would be good for people who can’t hear well for a super laugh right? I won’t mind helping typing the subtitles

Now, that’s a pretty cool valentine’s day gift ^^
Didn’t have time to go through em yet though, wanna do an AVGNathon in the near future grinding through all 4 DVDs

1. Don’t cut out the intros (they’re different for every episode anyway)

2. Audio commentary for every episode. Doesn’t have to all be James or Mike, could be from other people connected with the show like Liam, Kevin, Kyle, etc. If there’s one thing a DVD just isn’t a DVD without, it’s an audio commentary track. (And really, couldn’t you at least have included the 2 you did for Nightmare and Friday the 13th?)

3. I wasn’t really a fan of the explanation sequence on Wizard of Oz, should have left it as the re-cut fan videos to make the intro song.

I commented that I didn’t receive my AVGN vol 4 DVD. Today when I got home from work guess what. There in my mail box was a package. I opened it and in the cardboard box I finally I got my DVD. I know it isn’t screw attacks fault that it took 2 months to get it but I can’t help that they should’ve try to help me track it down. Anyway the DVD is awesome. I really am a nerd fan. Great Job James.

1) The extras are very good quality, I especially enjoy the tours of your video games and other gaming stuff.
2) How about switching to widescreen video? It probably won’t make much of a difference online but would look great on my widescreen TV 🙂
3) I have a blu-ray player, maybe look into putting everything on to one disc instead of multiple ones like every volume so far. It doesn’t have to be HD.

Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing, it’s awesome stuff!

I love that there has been a consistency with the features from volume to volume. Outtakes & bloopers, Screwattack Top 10’s, and episode trailers for example, are included on each volume and its good to know that things like that haven’t (and hopefully won’t) change. I also love seeing the evolution on “The Nerd Room” from year to year. I nearly shit myself when I saw you had an Action Max! I had that piece of crap and I could never understand how the fuck it worked. Having Mike Mattei involved with the “behind the scenes” and “making of” is great and makes it even more fun.

I am very curious as to what your plans are for the vol.5 dvd. With the episodes having been shortened to one a month, the next dvd will probably only have 12-15 episodes, so I’m guessing you may want to do more special features to give fans a little extra. Here’s a few suggestions I hope you may consider:

1. Commentaries- I know you have already done this on the vol.2 dvd, and listening to you, Justin and Mike was hilarious. I think it would be great to do a few episode commentaries for the next volume, as well.

2. Bonus episode content- One of the things I loved about the vol.3 dvd was the unexpected extra material in a few of the episodes, “Dick Tracy” and “Virtual Boy” come quickest to mind. The added stuff really made the dvd worth getting, as it makes for a different viewing experience from the online original versions.

3. Maybe include an exclusive “DVD only” Angry Nerd episode- It could be just a quick review or a retrospective thing, but perhaps a DVD exclusive may be something worth trying.

4. Include an episode or two of YKWBS or Board James- I know everyone loves the Nerd, but you’ve done some other cool stuff, too. A sample of Board James or YKWBS on an upcoming AVGN dvd would be a great treat for some of those who are maybe unfamiliar with your other projects.

5. Fan Q & A- I know you get asked a shit ton of questions from your loyal fanbase on a regular basis, but I think a section on the dvd that addresses the most frequently asked questions (as well as a few funny or obscure ones) would be a great thing for the fans.

That’s all for now. Looking forward to all of your future projects!
