You probably should have read the situation better and not responded to the accusations, but I can sympathise with you. That said, it’s James’s right to cast who he wants if he thinks that’s who he requires for specific roles, and unfortunately due to the previous thread he may very well have changed those perceptions for the wrong reason. It’s the same thing with Midsummer Murders – everyone was up in arms when the director said he couldn’t see himself hiring black actors regularly, ignoring the fact that it’s set in a rural village in England – places that black people simply do not live, at least not enough to justify shoehorning them into the show just to meet an arbitrary quota. It simply has to be accepted that some roles are ineligible for black or asian actors, just as is the case for white actors, or in fact for ALL actors. Nobody is suitable for every single role. Like I said though, your comment got taken out of context a bit and you have your heart in the right place, so I have no issue with you.

Also, seph411, about the “I’m a disabled black jew, so hire me or I’ll see you in court” comment you responded to – yes, yes he was joking. It saddens me that someone would have to explain that to you.
