This is the first horror movie that I ever sat down and watched. I was probably about 7 at the time, and I was terrified at the very idea of horror movies. My sister forced me to sit down and watch this, and after everything was said and done, I just thought “that’s it?”. I found it entertaining, not scary. After that I was hooked, and by the time I was 10, I had seen all the Nightmares, Friday the 13ths, and Child’s Plays.

Yep killer movie. Top 5 horror of the 80s for me. In fact it has really affected my life. Always been fascinated by dreams since this movie. And Dokken / 80s metal. 😉

This movie reminds me of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. They both take place in a mental instetution, they both have evil staff members and nurses, they both have those circle meetings, where one person gets taken away by the staff. Kristen is like McMurphy, they both shouldnt really be in the mental instetution, and they both have a little bit more knowledge than everyone else. Joey and Phillip remind me of Billy. Billy and Joey both have trouble speaking, and Phillip and Billy both commit suidide. Although Phillips was from Freddy, Billy did it because of nurse Ratched. Nancy reminds me of Cheif in a way. Nancy dies for Kristen. Cheif smothers McMurphy to stop his pain and so evyerone else wouldnt see him like that. They are both good friends. Its kinda feels like nightmare 3 is trying to copy one flew over the cuckoos nest. They r like the same movie aside from the dream stuff with freddy
