Jackie Earle Haley is good but look at the drama film “Little Children” where he plays a pedophile, his role as George Noyce in Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island” and of course “Watchman” where he plays the “Ayn Rand” inspired Rorschach and you will see he could have brought a lot more to his portrayal of Krueger if Michael Bay hadn’t dumbed down the remake.

Actually, the remake was supposed to have Freddy’s appearance by compared to real burns. According to the producer, the crew had many reference photos of actual victims, which detailed how white the skin would appear after healing. Form did not want the audience to turn away in disgust every time Freddy was on the screen, so they opted to hold back on some of the realism.

The main problem with this movie is that it came out too late, at the time no one gave a shit about Freddy or Jason anymore, besides since i`m a Jason fan, i hate that Freddy is the one driving the plot of the movie while Jason is just there to kill and, eventually, beat the shit out of Freddy…

I don’t know if this was pointed out already, but on the inconsistency about Freddy chopping that girl’s nose off, the idea in the movie was that Freddy wasn’t powerful enough to do any damage in the real world. This was early enough in the movie that he still hadn’t regained enough power to leave a lasting mark.
