I’m just so sick of remakes and reboots of everything from my youth.

It’s more than that just feel they’re tarnishing a legacy and plundering my childhood memories, it’s that they can’t think of anything new.

These writers and producers are getting paid to re-purpose something that didn’t need re-purposing. If they want to show the kids today some Thundercats, show them the originals and drop all pretenses that you feel a reboot with re-written characters is necessary.

They’ve taken G.I.Joe, Thundercats, He-Man, Transformers, and Ninja Turtles… and basically made proverbial snuff films out of them… because Generation X is in charge of the companies now and they can’t leave well enough alone.

As somebody who followed religiously the original Thundercats back in the day,I can honestly say that I hope the series gets CANNED. I’m sorry,but what they did with some of the characters (specially and particularly Tygra) is rightdown criminal. The original cast of Thundercats were all Lion-O’s friends who served as his teachers first and his loyal comrades later. Here they are a ragtag Scooby Doo band who begrudgily follows this kid for whom they have zero respect. And that is what kills me with this series, that I want Lion-O to kick the living shit out of Tygra & Co more than I want him to beat the villains (whom,let’s be honest,they suck a big fat cocksickle compared to the old series). How WRONG is that?

Don’t get me wrong,the animation is good and the series started off strong (the episode with the Petalars was the best),but then slowly but surely the stories began to degrade and then they introduced that (universally maligned) unnessesary love “triangle” and the series continuity went down the crapper.

No,best let this series be remembered as a footnote like that 1990 version of He-Man (that Mike should review one of these days) and cherish the memories of the 80s classic..

@ Veio: Um, the reason for that is because all of the animation for GOOD shows these days is done in KOREA AND JAPAN. No one here in the U.S. gives nine shits about high quality hand-drawn animation anymore, it’s all CG. So it has to be outsourced.

Seriosly, why every American cartoon needs to be “anime-like”? Can’t we have our own style? There is Ultimate Spiderman and Tron Uprising for example which are far more creative than just stamping these “oh so kawaii” eyes to every goddamn character.

the thunder cats is a great show and if this works to save the show lets try to bring back a cancelled show just like how people brought back family guy after it was cancelled lets bring back megas xlr
