I remember the rental shelf of my local Circle K growing up, as well as grocery stores like Albertson’s having a rental section. There was also a Movie Gallery chain in my local Wal-Mart.

]]>I still stop in from time to time, just to buy as they have good to great prices on used DVDs and video games as they buy and resell.
]]>While not straight up grocery, I had two general stores in our area that carried VHS tapes and basically what your average convience store carries as well as a food area where you could get hoagies, ice cream, pizza, etc. When we moved when I was 14, the one was within walking distance and I could rent older movies for 99 cents so it was great. I spent a lot of weekends buying bottles of Moxie soda and renting 99 cent Miramax movies. I still remember renting Pulp Fiction when I was 14. Noone in there seemed to care about renting me Rated R movies compared to Blockbuster.
