In 1976, Nolan Bushnell sold Atari to Warner Communications for $28 million and By 1980, sales of Atari home video systems had reached $415 million, with Wall Street minting Atari as the fastest growing company in American business, which is what Pat is referring to.

Pat looks like he just woke up. He just popped out of bed, took a shower (maybe, grabbed a cup) and started filming.

I’d love to see you guys do more videos together. You can see there’s a lot of respect between you both.

fastest growing business in american history was slavery, and the industrial revolution with coal and machine technology. video games were/are a joke compared to how those business models dominated american history. pat likes to exaggerate and he is giving completely wrong information here.

Why did he choose this subject for his movie? Not because everyone already knew about the landfill, or because it wasn’t so special. No, he chose it because it was an urban legend among gamers.

And to be honest I think James is a little pissed that they decided to dig up this landfill right as he released his movie. After all, the plot of his movie is more or less redundant now. The mystery has been solved, the games have been found. Sure it will still be an entertaining movie to see, but the suspense and mysterious factor is gone.

Cancelled? I remember playing that game on my ps1 as a kid, admittedly it wasn’t a legit copy and came from a place with really obscure games but it still seemed completely finished with nothing missing. The game was fun to play with friends but the novelty wore off pretty quickly.

As they even say here, even though it was well known it really did exist…even back in the 80’s. It’s weird this “myth” had been built up.

So I fail to see how the end can be a let down and blame Twitter, etc when EVERYONE already knew the “myth” was true decades ago.
