I noticed that you mentioned that “The Mummy” doesn’t have a literary source, and while it’s true that it’s not a direct adaptation of any one novel, there are a number of striking narrative similarities between it and H. Rider Haggard’s imperial era adventure novel, “She: a History of Adventure” that might be worth noting, as well as all the carried-over plot points from the previous year’s “Dracula”.
