But those players were up against the programmers. I remember one of the programmers on Midway Arcade Treasures said their goal was to “maximize coin drop” when designing a game.

Every arcade I visited had one guy, one wiz-kid-Bootsy that could clear a game with one coin. I sucked back then, but now I can finish a couple of arcade titles with just one coin.
