It might not be the most complex plot of the world but it is far more complex than your average horror movie and there is much more to it than just gore. Also, tell me how many franchises have a story line that develops throughout as many as SEVEN movies? Most movies are one film-deal and the rest go up to 4 movies maximum.

Its okay if you like the series, but I wouldn’t pretend there was anything remotely complex about these movies except for the neat little twist in Saw 1.

Im not s­a­ying th­e­y ­a­r­e­ p­e­rf­e­ct but its ­a­bout th­e­ b­e­st horror s­e­ri­e­s w­e­ h­a­v­e­ so f­a­r. Its tru­e­ th­a­t from th­e­ s­e­cond on­e­ ­a­nd on th­e­y w­e­r­e­ ­a­dv­e­rtis­e­d by c­a­pit­a­lizing on th­e­ gor­e­ but th­e­r­e­ is ­a­ctu­a­lly much mor­e­ to it. Th­e­ whol­e­ story is ­a­ thrill­e­r ­a­nd th­e­ plot is quit­e­ compl­e­x.

I’m sorry if I sound like a prude, but those movies are complete and total garbage. Saw 1 was the only enjoyable movie, and only because of the twist ending. Everything else amounted to “Gorn” (portmanteau of Gore and Porn).
It’s on the same level as the Human Centipede movies.

These movies are devoid of any poignancy and exist only to push the envelope and gross out audiences with ever increasing levels of violence and depictions of torture and mutilations.
