Also, both liked to wear capes in public.

I thought Crystal Skull was nice. I was just disappointed with the ugly cg aliens.

There is a new movie based on it coming out called valerian. the director also made the 5th element and he points out that both star wars and the 5th element borrowed heavily from the comic. you can google “valerian star wars” and see everything from the canitna scene, cloud cities, the millennium falcon, to a dude being frozen in carbonite!

The two videos are too similar in structure to be a coincidence, even if James still holds the opinions he expressed in that old video.

Oh yeah, and Lucas is also responsible for the genesis of Indiana Jones (also based on great serials from yesteryear). I don’t know why he isn’t revered more. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn’t that bad.

I loved running through all the references and influences to old timey film and mythology. I knew about a lot of them but there was a lot here I never realized, such as Peter Cushing and David Prowse from Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell. That can’t be a coincidence.
Really makes you realize the genius of Lucas, even though no one ever gives him that credit anymore. They treat him like a one-trick pony just because the prequels weren’t as well-received. I really hate that. I might be alone on this, but I still prefer the prequels to The Force Awakens. At least it was trying to do something different.
