The man who made the films was John Davis (I bet you’ll love his work and late 70’s special effects).
Here’s one of his Astro-Liner movies:

I’ve been watching James’s videos since middle school (something like seven years ago; yeesh) and hearing them talk about a park only a couple miles from where I live is just surreal.

I went on the original and it was pretty corny. They’re fake submarines that you ride in, they’re on a rail and go underwater just far enough that the windows are covered, but they’re never totally submerged. Definitely not a good ride to go on if you’re claustrophobic. The scenery was like what you would find in someone’s aquarium, just mostly junk. A very gimmicky ride. When I was last out in Disneyland the Nemo version was closed for a refurb. The interesting thing about that was that the monorail would go over it and you could see the empty pool area and all of the stuff they were re-painting. My understanding is it’s still basically the same ride, but they project the Finding Nemo story from the Epcot ride over the windows so it looks like the characters exist in the pool.

I remember a lot of those rides. I also remember that rocket ride. Clementon Park was about 20 minutes from my house growing up.

I too remember that Rocket ride. I think it was at a travelling fair or maybe an amusement park in Maine. Perhaps there were several versions of it using the same video. I remembered the spider legs as being more like tentacles. I’ve been dying to see a video of it online. I absolutely loved it!

I’m from NH and both places are great. That mine ride at canobie is still there and awesome as ever. Also for some strange reason they have 2-3 simpsons arcade games there still operational. Such an awesome park.
