I should have said that!” moment which is slowly becoming know in English to describe that… “L’esprit d’escalier” (Literally “staircase wit”). (pronounced “less-pree dess-cal-yay”, if I remember correctly.)

It refers to the idea of coming up with the perfect response just as you’ve irrevocably left the party.
