I thought Covenant did its job as Prometheus 2, my feeling is people are having a hard time between expectations and what they’re plated.
As I understood the original intent of this trilogy, it was not designed to be a direct Alien prequel, but movies existing in the same universe as Alien. I still enjoy that vibe that ‘sort of’ exists, but my sense is this was overridden (‘Alien’ wasn’t even supposed to be in this films title).
I’m still super pleased, again, treating it as its own sequel to Prometheus, as opposed to what we hear Mike constantly compare to Alien, like most do, and granted, this is hard not to do.
The growth and demise of David’s unspoken goals, as they have been laid out on screen have been my favorite piece of these movies.

I totally agree with the positision in the line up. Itsb etter than 3. (unsure if better than prometheus, i need to watch it again) but def. better than 3 which makes it one of the top 3 Alien movies.

Doesnt really set anything up just shows a tad bit of story/cut scenes which Noomi Rapace/Shaw and David.

DAmn shame they got her back for the movie and just up and Alien 3’d the fuck out of the movie.

James…. “Alien 5” aka Alien: Awakening was the brain child of Neil Blomkamp. Which of course acted like Alien 3 and 4 never happened. But Since douche bag, Ridley Scott changed the name of Prometheus 2 to Alien: Paradise Lost, Fox thought it would be too confusing to have two Alien movies coming out. So they stopped the production of Alien “5”. And now it is never going to happen. So now we can look forward to another shitty prequel. Thanks Ridley Scott!

In reply to Smokingspoon. Data and Lore, good comparison though.. Alien is good A to Z. Aliens used to be my favorite movie ever, but the more I watch it lately, the more I find the ending silly. The power-loader fight I mean.
