Hey James. A lot of people nowadays have music streaming services like Spotify or Apple Music. I’m sure a good handful of your fans would follow you on spotify and just quickly add your playlists. As i was looking to make this playlist on my Spotify, i saw that there are a handful of people who had done the same. By the way, i love this new segment you’re doing. I love several kinds of metal and its even cooler that you do too, keep it up.

You forgot the best and most underrated Black Sabbath album of all times: Tyr! Also, I have a suggestion: How about making official AVGN Spotify lists? More people use Spotify than Amazon and it’s 5min work.

I did a similar playlist once with the Sabbath family tree including Dio, Rainbow, Iommi, Ozzy, etc. Missing from your list are A Light in the Black (Rainbow), Gates of Babylon (I prefer the Yngwie Malmsteen version to Rainbow’s though), and Buried Alive (Ozzy teaming with Rick Wakeman) and how can you leave off Time Machine (especially the Neon Knights version?) Great list though.

Not a big metal fan, but I adore Ozzy era Sabbath… probably because those early albums are not metal at all. Are they the blueprint for that genre? Abso-freaking-lutely. But they’re more Hard Rock. And with riffs to die for.

It’s when they became metal that I tuned out (although I do love a few tracks from the Dio era. Heaven And Hell, The Mob Rules, Die Young, etc), but I can still see the appeal.
