The Floyd is my favorite band of all time. Being in my early 30s, it should probally be Nirvana or Green day or something like that. But no, It’s Roger’s lyrics, David’s guitar playing, and Ricks melodic keyboards that got me. Gilmour is the reason why I picked up the guitar, along with countless others I would imagine. This is a great attempt at putting a 70s “best of” list together. It is very difficult because of your very valid point of not having the music flow together, if you break the albums up. Only thing i would have added to the “songs” playlist is Dogs. Echoes is a mind trip without being on drugs. Shine on!

Totally right about them being an album band. If you’ve ever shuffled your Pink Floyd songs on your iPhone, you’d figure it out haha. I think The Final Cut is totally underrated. I know people refer to it as a Roger Waters solo album, but it’s got some really good songs on it.
