Check out this Sonic the Hedgehog fan film produced by Blue Core Studios and directed by Eddie Lebron (the team that brought you the “MegaMan” fan film). This shows a lot of dedication! Today, the old video game franchises don’t seem to get a lot of cinematic recognition. For example, we’ll probably never see Nintendo take another chance with a new Super Mario Bros movie. That kind of thing doesn’t happen anymore, but I believe the video games of the past can be made into great movies, if given the care and attention. For now, it’s up to fans with motivation like this, to show what the possibilities are, and maybe the movie industry will take the hint.
